This calendar dedicated to various mythical and mythological creatures.  You might know, that in the Middle Ages a compendium of beasts was called Bestiary. That was an illustrated volume that described existing and imaginary animals. Don’t try to find any hidden messages, don’t consider the calendar seriously - it's just a fantasy, awoken by venerable ornaments. Adding significance and delineating the idea & content of a month, there’s a saying in Latin on each page.
