The Marvelous Fish. Original Etching with Aquatint Print
This original hand printed etching has been made on a zink plate and printed by means of old cast-iron etching press.
An etching is made by drawing a design onto a zink plate through a layer of wax and then putting it into acid, which etches a groove in the plate to hold the ink. It is a very old technique, dating back to Rembrandt's era. This work has also been treated with an aquatint which gives the etching an extra special effect. Every etching is inked by hand and is thus a unique and original artwork. The plate was printed on an old cast-iron etching press. Hand-printed etching printed with sepia or black ink in an edition of 50, signed and numbered in pencil.
