A study of Bachelor's Button 'Black Magic', where densely layered petals unfold in deep violet and plum tones around a luminous center.

The flower combines the wild character of a traditional cornflower with an unusually dark, velvety coloration. The composition focuses on the sculptural rhythm of the petals and the contrast between the richly saturated bloom and its pale, silvery foliage.
